Alnico is the oldest family of permanent magnets, having been made and used since the 1930s. It is produced in both cast and sintered forms. The grades range from 2.0 MGOe to 10.0 MGOe. The most commonly used grades are cast Alnico 5 and Alnico 6, with Alnico 8 and Alnico 9 being premium grades.
